Raw Materials Nero Day Side Table: Modern and Sustainable Design
The Nero Day side table has a modern look and fits into almost any interior style. This stylish table is ideal to place on its own or to combine with a taller side table from the same collection. Available in both natural and black, the table offers versatility and elegance.
Nero Collection:
All items in the Nero collection are made of teak wood, a sustainable wood species. Teak originally comes from India, Thailand, Laos, and Myanmar, but due to excessive logging, it now only grows in the natural forests of Myanmar. Teak was introduced to Indonesia in the 16th century during the Dutch colonial period, with large teak plantations being established. Since Indonesia's independence, the management of these plantations has been handled by the government. This system has proven successful, as teak is a valuable wood and replanting after harvesting has always been economically viable.
Almost all the teak used for furniture in Indonesia comes from these plantations. Since 2016, the Indonesian government has regulated the timber trade with a traceability system that makes it possible to trace the origin of all exported wood. This system is part of the FLEGT trade agreement with the EU, which ensures that only legally sourced wood is imported into the EU.
