Bullnose Rack With 5 Shelves Raw Materials

Mango wood storage rack for any space

This rack from the Bullnose collection is made of sustainable mango wood. The rack has an organic shape thanks to the rounded sides.

Mango wood:
This product is made of a special hardwood: mango wood from India. This type of wood is very sustainable because it is a byproduct of the food industry, namely mango fruit. The trees grow on a large scale in India and ripen quickly: 15 years instead of, for example, oak (50-100 years). The fruit production is good in the first period of the tree. As it gets older, the fruit production also decreases. Therefore, this tree is less economically valuable on the mango plantations. The solution for mango farmers is then: cut down and replant. Due to this way of working, the wood of the mango tree is truly sustainable. After its life as a food producer, the wood gets a second life as a piece of furniture. The base of mango wood has a warm color, but due to the color variations in the wood, there may be deviations. It gives each piece of furniture a robust and unique look.

Finish:
The mango wood is sanded and provided with a sealer and wax layer to protect against water stains.

Mango wood is a fantastic, environmentally friendly material. Mango trees are only cut down when they no longer bear fruit, giving the wood a second life in your home. The storage rack is easy to maintain; a slightly damp or dry cloth is often enough to remove dust and stains. Do you want to make the wood shine extra? Then rub in a layer of wax occasionally or treat it with mineral oil for a natural shine.
